Malta’s strategic location on the intersection of Europe, Africa, and Middle East made it one of the main takeover targets. For centuries pirates used its secluded bays to find some rest and resort. The island is home to the megalithic temples, which are older than the Pyramids of Egypt. The arrival of Knights to the island had a profound effect on lives of its inhabitants and visitors. The battles between knights and pirates, Napoleon’s invasion of Malta, the numerous treasures of the island and slave trade, the end of the Order of Malta… This documentary is the inspiring and heartfelt story of this fascinating place.
